I say Praise God almighty presence of one who has given his grace to me so that I managed to finish the paper in time,entitled “English Language Skills”.
This paper contains information skills of listening,writing,reading,andspeakin.I as a constituent of this paper in order to provide information to us about “English Language Skills”.
I realize that this paper is far from perfect because of the criticism and suggestions from all parties which are constructive I always hoped for the perfection of this paper.

PART I
PRELIMINARY

A.    Background
Every language in the world comprises four basic principles.It does not matter what sort of language it is,where is from and how it is structured-they are all made up of reading,writing,speaking and listening.These four principles are intrinsically linked but also very different.They must all be mastered to become fluent in a language but they all have their own unique traits.People can be good at one and poor at another.But at the same time,there is little chance of learning a language well if the person learning does not master all four.They are linked and knowledge of each discipline in the auxiliary language comprehension and proficiency.
Listening is the basis for the development of all other skills and the main
channel through which the student makes initial contact with the target
language and its culture. Through active listening, students acquire vocabulary
and syntax, as well as better pronunciation, accent and intonation.  Though
listening skill is very important, for some language learners it is considered to be
the most difficult language skill.
Speaking skills (speaking skills) in the English language is a skill person to review convey passion and thoughts shown to anyone Only through oral, however, speaking skill difficult evolving if not trained operates continuously and can do with fellow in the hearts classes, english teachers, other teachers or what can speak english. The objective is to facilitate the review speaking skills, enrich vocabulary use, fixing order speak, sayings enhance vocabulary, sentences in english, and train hearing so easy capturing messages from opponent talk.
The existence of such a situation, it means that can motivate students to study harder and comprehensive review of the English language both written and oral. The students should be able to express ideas, thoughts and others, they also must be able to answer questions and ask the appropriate level of student well during the learning takes place. When fulfilling the discussion, the students are required to skillfully express and defend opinions, refute other students, or affect other students in order to follow the conversation.
Next is Reading (Reading), this skill is also important with other skills. through reading, we can get a lot of information and knowledge. Reading in English education. In English, reading material usually examines Skimming, Scanning, and Skipping. That's what I know friends.
An increased professional concern in teaching writing skills has manifested itself by a number of publications in this area since the 1980s. Issues related to the teaching of writing and to the research findings on the writing of non-native speakers are of a particular interest to linguists and teachers, who claim that one of the most valuable and essential skills is the ability to write accurately, briefly and clearly.
B.     Formulation of the problem
1.      How to teach English language skills in listening?
2.      How to teach English language skills in speaking?
3.      How to teach English language skills in reading?
4.      How to teach English language skills in writing?

C.    The author's purpose
1.      To know how to teach the English language skills of listening.
2.      To know how to teach English language skills in speaking.
3.      To know how to teach English language skills in reading.
4.      To know how to teach English language skills in writing













PART II   
  DISCUSSION

A.    English Skill Listening
Listening is the basis for the development of all other skills and the main
channel through which the student makes initial contact with the target
language and its culture. Through active listening, students acquire vocabulary
and syntax, as well as better pronunciation, accent and intonation.  Though
listening skill is very important, for some language learners it is considered to be
the most difficult language skill.
       The first is Listening or heard in learning English,the ability to be a student can have is heard before can speak English.. It is very important to be mastered first before we bernbicara because before students can talk should students often played last native speaker speaking students to follow the way native speakers pronounce a word.
      A great way to improve quality is to multiply the ability of Listening student listen to the recorded conversation in English, or if student need to multiply a movie  / video bersubtitle English. In order to train a little more listening we try film / video that we see it do not use subtitlenya writing, let alone without the subtitle as we watch a movie – a Cartoon. Thus,students will be trained to improve their skills in English language skills in listening.

B.     English Skill Reading
Reading is a process that is carried and used by readers to get the message to be conveyed by the author through the medium of words / discuss writing. A process that has demanded that the word is a unity will be seen in a glimpse and that the meaning of individual words will be known. If this is not met, then the explicit and implicit messages will not be caught or understood, and the reading process was not carried out well. Reading is a process of reconstruction of the meaning of a text.
The way a teacher teaches reading skills among students by giving a written discourse,students were asked to perform activies-the following activities :
1.      The teacher asks the students to search for word,phrases,clauses referenced inreading based on the reference given ;
2.      Students are asked to formulate questions about the content of readingand the other is trying to answer ;
3.      The students were asked to choose a chart or table that corresponds to the content of reading that had been read;
4.      The teacher asks  students to conduct a series of written commands ;
5.      The teacher asks students to guess the meaning of word and gues the meaning of literature they have read ;
6.      Students are required to find to find the words and ideas-keyword principal;
7.      Students are required to summarize the content of reading they have read ;
8.      Students complement readings with words provided ,;
9.      determine the type of paragraph ;
10.  Make a flow chart of reading the content.
Similarly ,the way English language skills in reading is taught as by unconsciously through a given task they perform their reading skills.

C.    English Skill Speaking   
Skill keduia is speaking, after mastering the skill of Listening listen then we will mencipkana a "product language" that is spoken / Speaking. through speaking, a speaker (speaker) to communicate to convey meaning and tujuannnya. In speaking techniques learned in the form of pronunciation of words that speak English, in addition to the English Speaking Skill active means we can speak English. Speaking (Speaking) is one skill that must be mastered and really - really able to practice in the field with the other as his interlocutor.
The way a teacher teaches reading skills among students by giving a written discourse,students were asked to perform activies-the following activities :
1.      The students were asked to introduce themselves ;
2.      Students are invited to play a role in explaining rhings , portray an interview , request express sympathy , and inviting , and gives the answer ;
3.      Students perform frequently asked questions about daily life with a companion seat;
4.      Students are asked to retell the contents of the texts have been read ;
5.      Students are required mutual dialogue in pairs.

D.    English Skill Writing
Writing ia a process of thinking and processes that are experienced and committed by a person who is used to convey ideas ,messages , and also information throught the of language and also in writing so that it can be understood by the reader.
The way a teacher teaches reading skills among students by giving a written discourse,students were asked to perform activies-the following activities :
1.      Students are asked to complete the simple story ;
2.      Students are required to translate the English language literature into Indonesia;
3.      Students are asked to write sown their holiday in English ;
4.      Students are asked to write aparagraph and a simple narrative.

A.    Conclusion
Listening is the basis for the development of all other skills and the main
channel through which the student makes initial contact with the target
language and its culture.
 Reading is an active process of the mind which is done through the eyes of the readings. By teaching children how to read means giving a child a future that gives a technique how to explore the "world" wherever he chose and provide an opportunity to get his life purpose.
Skill keduia is speaking, after mastering the skill of Listening listen then we will mencipkana a "product language" that is spoken / Speaking.
Writing ia a process of thinking and processes that are experienced and committed by a person who is used to convey ideas ,messages , and also information throught the of language and also in writing so that it can be understood by the reader.
English language skills are very important and should be taught correctly to the students using strategies creative that these students have an interest in learning the English language.Without them realizing their English skills every day using it and language skills are inter-related with each other.They will know consciously that English was not scary but fun and English language is the language of the word .


B.      Suggestions
1.      Teachers must know the characteristics of students who have difficulty learning to reading,listening,writing,and speaking so it can do laynan properly.
2.       It should actively participate in counseling students learn to reading, listening,writing,and speaking so as to improve their academic achievement.
3.       It is expected that the cooperation between parents and schools in the implementation of tutoring.
